Dizzi began her musical career in the mid 1990s, and her outstanding drumming skills soon earned her the name Dizzi Drummer. Dizzi toured the UK festival circuit and in 2000 she moved to London where she became known as a Female dance percussionist performing with up and coming DJs in a number of Westend Night Clubs.
While in London she discovered the magical melodies of the Hammered Dulcimer and set about the task of teaching herself to play this wonderful instrument.
“As a recording artist my musical inspiration was initially solely rhythmic based. Now I have found the Hammered Dulcimer I can introduce melody into my rhythmic world. I believe it is my purpose to re-introduce the Hammered Dulcimer as a modern instrument in the 21st Century.”
Dizzi returned to her home town of Frome in 2003 and set up her own record company Ezelove Records with the intention of recording and releasing her own music. She now runs a dulcimer retail and information site called www.dizzi.co.uk and spends time facilitating group workshops teaching in Schools and running Community Dulcimer Clubs across the UK.
Her album Dulci Solo has had great success across the world and as a result she has performed as a Percussionist at Festivals, weddings, seminars and corporate events in countries including Portugal, Romania, Spain, Holland, Norway and Mexico.
She is about to start the Third year of a Degree in Commercial Music and has the Honour of representing the UK at the world Dulcimer Congress in Budapest later this year!
